Hourglass

*Note: This poem was inspired by the struggle women face in the workplace to be taken seriously, to be seen as powerful, strong, and confident, rather than objectified, and stereotyped.

A silent wonder.
Just some skin,
Segmented, cut, altered.
36,28,36
Measure up
Or measure off.
Hard worker
Easy on the eyes.
Long legs,
Keep’n it tight
Beautiful mind
But he’ll have more brain
Show him up
He’ll put you to shame.
