Smiling Away the Dark Prana

‘Dark Prana represents all of our habits and thoughts we have developed throughout our lifetime and it is always running in the background. They surface from time to time, often when we least expect them. We can be overcome by these thoughts and actions if we do not allow our Higher Self a chance to reconnect through meditation. Dark Prana is often stronger than our will to connect to Spirit.’

Vāsanā” (Skt.) “The accumulation of these habitual tendencies is believed to predispose one to particular patterns of behavior in the future.”

In order for the light to shine so brightly, the darkness must be present. —Francis Bacon

STOP

&

Begin Again

Today I choose to move beyond the dark prana suffering, to break the old news cycle, and to breathe through the destructive course I have been.

For today I choose to smile away the dark prana and release the pain, to delight in the dark and greet the light with a peck on the cheek.

On this day, I practice mindfulness.

Arrogance

Jaws clenched tight, hate burns the brain as beady greedy eyes squint

I know, I know better, I know best

I know the right way or the highway

Smiling away… I know nothing at all

Our own physical body possesses a wisdom which we who inhabit the body lack. We give it orders which make no sense.  —Henry Miller

Fear

Little girl locked in the fruit cellar, naked, shivering, lying on the dirt floor curled in a ball

Fists forever clenched, heart forever seeping, forever weeping plasma

Soul drowning, sweat moon blood red

Little girl, the floor feels damp and soothing as the mist rises from your grey, acrid breath of death

Little girl, not so little, not so fragile anymore

Smiling away…she emerges from the dense dark and lifts her spirits high, high above the clouds and she’s floating, feather light

The spirit commands nothing

Lovely, little nothingness

This girl’s just passing by

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.Plato

Jealousy

You, neighbor, have too much, too many prized possessions

I have nothing; I want what’s yours

I want it now

Hurtful threats and accusations

I WANT IT ALL

Smiling away…I am the best representation of who I’d like to be

I am okay with less noise, more quiet

Simplicity sounds so pretty

Rolls off the tongue like tree sap maple syrup

I can hear the melody in the air

Music swirls rainbows

Aura delicious formations surround and protect

I want nothing more, nothing less

I am no longer envious of the wind

I find harmony in the whistling power and tour de force

I am the ballerina graceful swaying to and fro’

Trust only movement.  Life happens at the level of events, not of words.  Trust movement.  —Alfred Adler

Anger

I punch my fist through the glass trying to break free from this liquid shell

Of damnation

Burgundy blood splatters; shattered fragments fly violent with no direction

I am chaotic hate, raging against the machine and screaming silent

Lips tight, bite down hard the foul thinking

Fuck off pre-conditioned being

I am not

I AM not my past

I AM NOT

I am here now

Staring out from behind the glass longing mad

Smiling away…I caress the window there are no visible cracks

No gaping holes only giggly, chirpy light prisms, clear visions and dew drops dripping down

From the outside weeping in

From the inside looking out

I’m cool as a cucumber

Refreshing Mint Julep scented in spring

The spirit is safe and sound

It’s warm and comfortable beyond the dark energy

I am smiling away

A lifetime of pre conditioning, suffering, forced habits, outdated rules, boundaries, and sharp edges

I am leaning in and saying

Hello

People are like stained-glass windows.  They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.  —Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

  1. I wanted to listen to “Rise Up” before I commented…
I sit hear typing, listening to Andra Day’s beautiful voice and lyrics with tears
in my eyes and joy in my heart, I’m grateful.

Thank you for your beautiful, empathic spirit and for rising up, showing up, and getting up.
Wishing you a million sunny days.

  2. Xavier,

Wow. Thank you for your wonderful, poignant and poetic
comment. I’m touched by the words, “Little Girl” and I will cherish them
    and your well wishes.
Sending light, and blessings your way.

    Namaste!
    Jackie

  3. Imagine …
Bacon, Miller, Plato, Adler, Kübler-Ross all gathered together …
Smiling away … as they watch Little Girl,
    Jaws and fists clenched tight,
Emerge, at long last, from her dark prana
In the shape of a cool and very fresh cucumber!
There’s sudden magic in the air
And simplicity has never looked better.
“Hello, Little Girl”, they all say in unison,
    “Welcome beyond the Veil!
Here the Light needs no darkness to shine.
    It’s all Prana. Your Prana.
And your spirit is now safe and sound”.

    Blessings,
    Xavier

  4. As always Jackie, you gave me goosebumps. As I was reading it all I could hear was the song, Rise Up.

    “And I’ll rise up
    I’ll rise like the day
    I’ll rise up
    I’ll rise unafraid
    I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again
    And I’ll rise up
    High like the waves
    I’ll rise up
    In spite of the ache
    I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousands times again”

    Great piece!
