A Lovely Conversation Amongst Strangers

Redemption was in order, but his sins outweighed her ability to forgive.

Two friends, turned strangers, once lovers, now hardly knew each other on that night.
They were growing further apart in the house they shared together for years.

His own reflection sickened him, and the sight of her brought him so much joy, but he could not muster up the strength and courage to look her in the eye and smile.

After a few days, they shared a couple of words early in the morning on the couch.
It was the loveliest conversation amongst old friends.

She told him that she could never forgive him, but she did speak to him and that bought him one more day on Earth.

He sipped his coffee and peered deeply into the eyes of his estranged wife who never left his side.

It was at that moment he started believing in breathing again.

“I love you.”
