It Happened

It happened on Pleasant
street

where echoes of laughter
ring

from three girlfriends living
a Dream

and birthday celebrations
ushering

a coming of age
brokered

by a smile in the dark
and

“Nice black friend
You’ve got there.”

  2. Thank you. It’s sad but true fact that there are people on this world who feel they’re licensed to bring darkness in other’s lives.
